Bristleroot is a boutique advisory firm. We provide strategic and financial counsel to clients across a range of needs. We work hand-in-hand with founders, owners, boards, and management teams who want a senior advisor close to the work at every stage, from shaping the thesis to closing the transaction.

Bristleroot takes its name from the bristlecone pine. Their roots anchor millennia of growth in rugged high-alpine terrain. They stand for stability, resilience, and beauty in the harshest conditions.
Enduring value exists beneath the obvious, in durable assets defined by the unique markets that shape them. Identifying, growing, and capturing that value is the work.
Every market has its own terrain. The work begins by reading it closely, recognizing the needs taking root, and the places where durable value can grow.
From there the work is practical. We structure the opportunity, establish an action plan, and adapt to change.
Zack Davidson founded Bristleroot after more than a decade in private equity with a focus on infrastructure investing and project development. He spent much of his career designing and implementing institutional investments for nature-based solutions markets, assembling and managing assets in complex, regulated landscapes.
He has led project origination, underwriting, and development for investment strategies and asset classes that capitalized on environmental and regulatory markets. The work demanded both financial discipline and vision: structuring capital, pricing assets, and standing up the operating entities to manage them.
Earlier in his career Zack advised natural-resources and energy companies as an investment banker. Zack has served in board capacities on environmental and water finance, holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a degree in environmental studies and entrepreneurship from New York University.
Through Bristleroot, he advises institutional investors, owners, and management teams across sectors. He built the firm on a straightforward premise: that a senior advisor should stay close to the work and aligned with the client's long-term interests, from the first conversation through the close.
